New Types of Android Malware Have Been Detected

Android OS is one of the most vulnerable to viruses platforms. This is confirmed by the increasingly pop-up news about various viruses and vulnerabilities.

Experts from Symantec have warned about the appearance of a new version of the Fakebank virus. Fakebank appeared three years ago, but still delivers a huge inconvenience to the owners of Android-devices. Attackers receive all the necessary data from a user’s credit card using this malicious software, and it is emptied without problems. The virus is able to work only on the Android OS, and it is distributed through social networks and third-party application stores. However, until the activity of malicious software is distributed exclusively in the Central Asian region.

Symantec recommends that users regularly update the software, and do not install mobile applications from untested sources.
