Over the past few years we have heard about the smartphone encryption – this is an area where the details matter. Drive Encryption date back at least to the beginning of 1990 – ies. The actual encryption can be done in one of two different ways (Full Disk Encryption (FDE) system based on encryption file (NEP) system). Most of the software for commercial PC disk encryption historically decided to use the approach, full disk encryption (FDE). Early attempts to Android, with the addition of encryption on their phones follow a standard PC encryption full disk paradigm. The problem is that smartphones are not PCs.
Apple , in turn, encrypts all the data stored on the device. But unlike Android, Apple doesn’t use the full-disk encryption paradigm. Instead, they employ a file-based encryption approach that individually encrypts each file on the device. Apple’s approach isn’t perfect.

You may have noticed that when Apple’s, had four categories of protection, Android N has only two. This missing two categories, which cause problems.
