Password managers have existed for many years. It is designed to solve the problem of re-using passwords. Andrey Afonin in his article says that using password managers can improve overall security, eliminating the need for users to remember a number of unique strong passwords.

This article discusses the security of modern password managers and tells you what exactly was done and how to get into the encrypted repositories. Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery has also been updated with the ability to interrupt master passwords that protect the encrypted repositories of four popular password keepers: 1Password, KeePass, LastPass and Dashlane.
The current version of Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery supports encrypted repositories created by four popular password managers.
